Background
A customer whose manufacturing is primarily manual, and whom we have been supporting for many years in the areas of mechanical engineering design and industrial products, is gradually exploring automation opportunities to improve cost efficiency and quality.
Challenge
The goal was to find a cost-effective, easily integrable solution for the consistent application of adhesive to heat exchanger plates.
Several metal plates must be joined in a reliable manner and to a consistent standard of quality.
Our contribution
RAKKOON designed and built a compact robotic unit housed in a safety cell to partially automate the process.
RAKKOON developed the system architecture and the overall device concept.

It´s centerpiece is an industrial robot designed for precise adhesive application, complemented by customized application technology, a component holder, a safety concept, and a control system.
Result
The effort, time, and costs associated with assembly were significantly reduced. The quality of the assembly process was substantially improved.
